General Update
Oct 27, 2008There is a ton of stuff going on in the BMA camp. The new Lords record is out with shirt/cd pre-order packages shipping. There are still some shirt packages left in both white and yellow in our webstore.
Dance Club Massacre pre-orders for Circle of Death are available in our webstore shipping as of November 4th. The band has several weeks booked with Dr Acula in support of the new disc. Shirts packages will be available while supplies last.
Animosity just returned from Europe and Russia. Animosity was part of the Hell on Earth tour with Walls of Jericho, Evergreen Terrace, All Shall Perish, The Red Chord, Cataract and Stick to Your Guns. They start the Job for a Cowboy, Hate Eternal, All Shall Perish and Annotations of an Autopsy tour this week in the US.
The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza recently returned from a headlining run and is about to start a string of dates with A Life Once Lost and Arsonists Get All the Girls. The dates are up in our tour section and mark the bands first treck into Canada.
The Network have finished recording their upcoming full length with Kurt Ballou at God City studio in Salem, MA. The Network also has a split CD with UKs Throats to be released in early 2009. The split will be released in the UK/Europe via Holy Roar Records.
The new Architect full length, Ghost of the Salt Water Machines comes out 11/25. The band have a handful of shows alongside The Red Chord and Overcast mid-November.
Destroy Destroy Destroys new album BATTLESLUTS will be released in January.
Its been a long time coming but Sleep Terrors new disc will be recorded early 2009.
Cancer Bats have been busy in Canada with Johnny Truant and have upcoming dates in Europe with Funeral for a Friend. Their video is currently in rotation on Headbangers Ball and we have a big tour announcement for everyone in the upcoming weeks.
Behold...the Arctopus is in Europe with Genghis Tron.

The Network UK Dates and new split release announced
Sep 19, 2008Dates for the Network\'s super intense 13 shows in 11 day UK tour are now online. This trip marks the groups first oversea venture and will see the band playing shows alongside Genghis Tron, Behold...the Arctopus, Throats and Take a Worm for a Walk Week among others.
We are pleased to announce The Network\'s split CD collaboration entitled Notes from the Turncoat Campaign with the UK\'s Throats and Holy Roar Records. The band will have copies on the UK tour and it will see a proper release in the US early 2009.

Aug 29, 2008It has been rumored for a while but we are sad to say that today it is official-- FASSW have broken up. Here is a statement from the band:
\"The past several years for us as From A Second Story Window have been quite a roller coaster ride. We have watched trends come and go, looked on as people grew in and out of an ever undulating \"scene\", and had the chance to watch something we love, our music, grow into an expression we can all truly be proud of. However, the life in a band is much like those very roads we travel down on every tour; hills leading up, followed by valley\'s dipping downward towards vast, level planes where things begin to feel stagnant and a bit too calm. Then around every corner is a new fad or statement that you can either grow with or simply step aside and let it be what it is, knowing that you are no longer connected at all anymore. For us, with this changing musical market and its inhabitants, it is simply our time to step aside and let the flow continue on without us. It is time for us to venture down new avenues of creativity and to find new things to enrich our lives fully. From A Second Story Window was something that gave us all hope and pride in our small part of the musical world, but with economical woe\'s pulling us down, and changes in attitude towards the entire movement of \"heavy\" music, it just seems right to call it quits and move on in our own ways.
\"Please accept our deepest thanks to everyone out there who has ever helped us out, made it to our shows, partied with us afterwords (or before, ha ha), and most importantly listened to our music and truly cared about it as much as we did and still do. This is not an end for us as musical people, just an end for us as a group called From A Second Story Window, so be looking for little projects that any of us may do for fun in the future. Again, this entire trip has been a roller coaster ride, and I know that none of us are put out what-so-ever that we bought tickets and got in line! Cancer Bats Announce US Release of Hail Destroyer out June 24th on Black Market Activities!
May 20, 2008The Great White North gives us a blast of pummeling riffs and jagged tempos as Toronto\'s own Cancer Bats gear up for the release of their much awaited sophomore full length Hail Destroyer on Black Market Activities. Hail Destroyer sees Cancer Bats mature sonically and evolving as they incorporate the past, present of hardcore while they pave out its future.
From the fury of proto punk acts like Black Flag and Minor Threat as they tip their hats to the indie-core legends of the late 80\'s and early 90\'s such as Fugazi, Drive Like Jehu and Jawbox and remain cut from a somewhat similarly coarse cloth of today\'s movers and shakers in the realm of post-hardcore such as Young Widows, Pissed Jeans and Fucked Up to name a few. Black Market Activities announces a banner making contest for the BMA blog!!
May 19, 2008Black Market Activities is holding a banner making contest to advertize the labels new blog.
The winner will not only gain recognition for his or her work, as the banner will be displayed on the BMA MySpace, Web site and the BMA bands MySpace pages, but will receive free tickets to a show featuring a BMA band of their choosing.
Second place earns the combination of a free CD and poster from a BMA band.
Qualifications for entry into the contest:
1. Banner must be 468 x 60, in .gif format, with then entrants name and contact information submitted with the banner (only one entry per person).
2. The prize winner(s) shall agree to allow Black Market Activities reproduction rights in using the banner for advertisement, promotion and Internet purposes.
3. The winner will be announced by the week of June 9, and notified accordingly.
4. Banners are to be submitted to blackmarketactivities@gmail.com by no later than June 2.

BMA signs The Indomitable Iron Sloth
Apr 18, 2008We are proud to announce that we have signed The Indomitable Iron Sloth. The Vancouver, Washington band was once known as The Abominable Iron Sloth and released an album with Goodfellow Records/Undergroove. The group\'s previously announced EP will now be a full-length.
We have been huge fans of the band since the last record came out. When the opportunity arose to work with them, we were extremely excited to do so. We are currently scheming ways to honor or at least do something cool for those who initially pre-ordered through their myspace before we were involved. This will be a completely new recording than the tracks initially recorded and posted on the band\'s myspace.
The band comments:
\"Trying to get this EP out has been a sizable pain in the ass so far. Since we recorded it last year I\'ve written a few more songs that I think people might want to hear, so we\'re going to go back into the studio in the coming months to make the EP into a full-length... It really blows that it\'s taken so long, but hopefully we don\'t disappoint with the full length.\"

BLACK MARKET ACTIVITIES proudly announce the signing of ROMANS!
Black Market Activities is proud to announce the signing on Vermont natives, Romans. After years of toiling with different bands and styles, Justin Gonyea(guitar) teamed up with Ben Lee (guitar) and Kevin Savage (drums) in the winter of 2006. The band sought the services of Sean Martin (bass) and Tom
Kelly (vocals) rounded out the bands current line-up.
Romans, still new on the scene, is already making an impact with their self-released debut All Those Wrists. While the chaotic speed of Converge, heavy ambiance of Isis, space-rock of Failure and Cave In, and the balls-out rock of Queens of The Stone Age can be heard on All Those Wrists; Romans choose to play without limitations. Architect dropped from DEP Tour
Dec 2, 2007Due to some booking errors, Architect will not be able to perform as part of Dillinger Escape Plan\'s upcoming tour. We\'re all bummed. This was by no means any of the bands\' faults. Hopefully, we will see a Architect and DEP team up sometime next year. Sorry for all the back and forth.

Nov 24, 2007We just received word that Syracuse\'s ARCHITECT has been added to the upcoming Dillinger Escape Plan tour. The tour also features A Life Once Lost and Genghis Tron. We are trying to spread the word as the start date is only about a week away. Note that the tour routing has changed considerably in the last couple week.
In other Architect news, both Architect and label-mates Engineer have been selected for the Decibel Magazine Top 40 Albums of 2007 chart. The issue should hit stands this week, has Pig Destroyer on the cover and also has an Animosity feature. Please spread the word about this tour!!!

Jul 21, 2007The_Network has officially announced the addition of both a new singer and bassist to their line-up. Here's a statement from the band:"With Scott's final show being last week on Friday the 13th, we are pleased to announce we have not only one new member but two. The vocal duties will now be handled by Mikey Bones and bass duties by (Wolf Grenade) aka Bennett.
We have been practicing with this new lineup for close to a month now and things are shaping up well beyond all expections. Writing for the next record has already started. And with Mike and Bennett in the new line up things can be expected to be FAST on the new stuff. We're heading out for two months come August 3rd where we'll be spanning the entire U.S. Then we come home for October where we will be doing select weekends before we leave again in November with some yet to be announced headliners.
This is a new leaf we are turning with a new solid line-up, and while our original singer Scott will be missed we are confident that the new stuff will be just as good if not better with the new line-up. If not better then at least faster!"

Jun 20, 2007Sorry for the lack of updates. We have never been the best at keeping up on the internet stuff, but it's certainly not because there is a lack of stuff going on. Here is the abridged general run through.
Engineer & Dance Club Massacre's new disc will hit stores 7/10. Pre-orders will be up soon. DCM will be on the road with Architect & Destroyer Destroyer while Engineer will be hitting the road with Coliseum.
Animosity is in Europe with Converge. A new track & new CD release info will be coming soon.
Gaza is out right now with Handshake Murders & Destroyer Destroyer, followed by dates with Ed Gein & Genghis Tron.
Ed Gein are currently in Europe with Phoenix Bodies.
The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza has almost finished their new disc with an upcoming tour with Kill Whitney Dead following soon after.
Behold...the Arctopus have just about finished recording their new album. Details will be available shortly.
From a Second Story Window are taking most of the summer off to write. They are playing some one-off shows and fests including Robot Mosh Fest. Also, they have been confirmed on the Hell on Earth tour this September in Europe alongside Walls of Jericho and Born From Pain.
Paria are writing for a new album, now as an instrumental band and are gearing up for summer tour dates.
The_Network are searching for a new vocalist. The split is amicable. Parties interested in trying out can contact endtransmission@hotmail.com.
Destroy Destroy Destroy are actively searching for tours and a new booking agent. The group have parted ways with First Row Talent. Meanwhile, guitarist Jeremiah Scott is in the studio with Tony Danza producing their newest record.
The Red Chord are currently on tour with Through the Eyes of the Dead, Despised Icon, All Shall Perish & See You Next Tuesday. Their new disc drops July 24th and will be followed by tour dates with Between the Buried and Me, Cephalic Carnage & The End.
Khann's new disc Tofutopia is recorded and awaiting artwork. The disc slays and will see a fall release. Please email us if you have any touring ideas.

The Network, Autonym, SWAATS Booking Tour
May 22, 2007Booking is underway for the upcoming tour with The_Network, S.W.W.A.A.T.S (Debello, ex. bodies in the gear of the apparatus) and Autoymn (featured on MTV.com, just got off tour with the Esoteric) tour taking place this August through September 2007. The groups are currently looking for promoters and venues to host this tour. If you would be interested in handling a show for this tour in your area, please check the list of dates below and contact us immediately to work out further details. The bands say, "We will play basements, houses, clubs, whatever you got, we will do it!!!
This tour will be in support of the the_Network?s release on Black Market Activities/Metal Blade entitled ?This Is Your Pig's Portrait? and S.W.A.A.T.S upcoming release in July thru Debello records.
The tour is still in its preliminary stages and the schedule & routing should be considered flexible and tentative. BMA signs Khann
May 16, 2007We have signed Floridian metal outfit Khann. The Orlando-based act creates a unique brand of metal incorporating latter day screamo with strong punk and psychedelic undertones, not excluding a powerful drone and hardcore influence. Formed in 2006, the band features vocalist Joshua Vitale, formerly of Bodies In The Gears Of The Apparatus. The band's new album, "Tofutopia" was recorded by Chris Owens (of Lords) and features 23 tracks.
